The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has worked in collaboration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) to develop this evidence-based programme which is aimed at encouraging attendees to understand the concept of whistleblowing and freedom to speak up, how to conduct/facilitate difficult conversations and to consider processes when addressing conduct and capability issues. It has been developed for those staff who are involved in investigations, complaints and formal disciplinary or capability hearings, including care home/ward/department managers, who are newly appointed or who would like to refresh their skills and knowledge
